Mind & Muscle Therapy is built on a simple idea:
our mental and physical health are deeply connected.
Stress, grief, anxiety and everyday pressures don’t only affect our thoughts — they can show up in the body through tension, fatigue, headaches and pain.
By offering both counselling and sports massage therapy, Mind & Muscle Therapy provides two different approaches with the same goal:
supporting the wellbeing of the whole person.

Supporting mental and emotional wellbeing.
Areas may include:
• anxiety
• stress
• bereavement
• life challenges
• personal growth

Supporting physical recovery and muscle health.
Helps with:
• muscle tension
• injury prevention
• sports recovery
• posture and desk-related tension
• general muscular discomfort
Mind & Muscle Therapy was founded by Shea McCartney, a qualified counsellor and sports massage therapist based in Armagh.
The practice was created from a belief that mental and physical health are closely connected. Through counselling and sports massage therapy, Mind & Muscle Therapy aims to provide a supportive space for people to look after both their mind and body.
My approach to counselling is grounded in creating a safe, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever might be going on for you. I work in an integrative way, meaning I draw from different approaches to suit the individual, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
Alongside this, sports massage therapy offers a more physical way of supporting wellbeing - helping to reduce tension, support recovery, and improve how the body feels day to day.
Whether you’re looking for support mentally, physically, or both, the aim is simple: to help you feel better in yourself.
