Sports massage therapy at Mind & Muscle Therapy is focused on helping you feel better in your body - whether that’s reducing tension, supporting recovery, or addressing specific areas of discomfort.
You don’t need to be an athlete to benefit. Many people come for help with everyday tension, posture-related issues, or general muscular aches and pains.
Sports massage can support with:
• muscle tension and tightness
• back, neck and shoulder pain
• posture-related discomfort (e.g. desk work)
• sports recovery and injury prevention
• reduced mobility or stiffness
• general aches and pains
Each session is tailored to your individual needs, focusing on what’s going on for your body.
Your first session will include a short consultation to understand your needs, any areas of concern, and your general health.
Treatment is then tailored specifically to you and may involve a combination of techniques to help reduce tension and improve movement.
Pressure can be adjusted depending on your preference and what’s appropriate for your body - it doesn’t have to be overly painful to be effective.
I am a VTCT Level 3 qualified sports massage therapist, trained to use a range of techniques depending on your needs.
These may include:
• deep tissue massage
• IASTM (instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilisation)
• dry cupping
• lymphatic drainage techniques
Each technique is used where appropriate to support recovery, reduce tension, and improve overall comfort.
I am currently working towards a VTCT Level 4 qualification in sports massage, which will allow me to assess and treat more complex injuries and conditions.
As part of this, I will soon be offering:
• kinesiology taping
• dry needling
Sports massage is suitable for:
• people experiencing everyday muscle tension
• those with physically demanding jobs
• gym-goers and active individuals
• people dealing with stress-related tension
• anyone wanting to improve how their body feel
Sports massage is a hands-on treatment. You may be asked to remove certain items of clothing depending on the area being worked on, but your comfort, dignity and consent are always prioritised.
If you’re unsure whether treatment is suitable for you, feel free to get in touch before booking.
If you’d like to book a session or ask any questions, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
